Through its work with Java virtual machines, NaturalBridge has
developed a unique mastery of the architecture and development of
complex transaction management systems written in Java.
Most Java implementations today perform well only under loads of
lightweight and short-lived transactions. These implementations allow
the virtual machine to handle a relatively small number of active
transactions at a time. This is not a model that works well for
transactions systems with one or both of the following
characteristics:
- Many long-lived transactions which require continuous, uninterrupted
connections
- Individual transactions that have complex relationships with
other transactions
These types of transactions require specialized implementation
techniques to assure good throughput as well as to avoid common
problems such as deadlock or starvation. NaturalBridge has unique
tools for enhancing the reliability of these servers.
